God disciplined me, and believe me, that was no fun! First, He allowed me to be the victim of deception. He wrestled with me in the desert. And He allowed me to live in fear of my brother. Thankfully, Esau proved himself to be a bigger man than I. My brother forgave me.

After my trials, I emerged victorious and spiritually mature. In hindsight, I'm grateful for His discipline.

What’s cooking in my kitchen this week is …… not really sure yet! :D

The one thing that needs to be done the around here the most is …… there's a lot that needs to change here, in a lot of different areas!

 

If someone went through my trash, they’d think …… "wow, these people drink a lot of milk." We have six gallons in the fridge right now.

A memory of mine that involves the smell of vanilla …….is baking my Christmas cookies with my cousins and granny.

My mind keeps on wandering back to …….My relationship with God, and how I can help it grow stronger!

I need God’s grace to …..for everything in my life! Where would I be without God? Lost, hopelessly lost.

Something that I am anticipating is ……God moving in my life. I know something BIG is about to happen! Thank you Lord!

 Angel Food Cake

12 Egg whites
1 1/2 tsp Cream of tartar
1 1/2 cups Sugar divided
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Almond extract
1 cup Sifted cake Flour
1/4 tsp Salt
Whipped cream topping
Fresh strawberry lightly covered in Sugar and water
Oven Temp ~ 375°
Cake Baking Time ~ 30 - 40
Preheat oven,
Using a mixer beat egg whites with cream of tartar on high speed until foamy . Add 3/4 cup of the sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time, beating constantly until sugar is dissolved* and whites are glossy and stand in soft peaks. Beat in flavorings. Sift together flour, remaining sugar and salt. Sift about 1/2 cup of the flour mixture over whites and gently fold just until flour disappears. Repeat, folding in remaining flour mixture 1/2 cup at a time. Pour into ungreased 10 x 3 3/4-inch Angel Food pan. Gently cut through batter with metal spatula.Bake in preheated oven until top springs back when lightly touched with finger. Invert cake in pan on funnel or bottle neck. Cool completely, about 1 1/2 hours. With narrow spatula or knife, loosen cake from pan and gently shake onto serving plate. Let the cake cool. Add whipped topping and strawberries.

How To Melt Chocolate Easily

Quick Tip: Break chocolate into pieces before melting, this will make the process go faster.
Double-Boiler Method:

• Use a double-boiler or put chocolate chunks in a small round-bottomed bowl (glass) and place over hot water. Stir every few minutes until chocolate is fully melted then remove from heat.
• Do not boil water, as the steam may get into the chocolate and cause it to become lumpy plus splashes of water in the chocolate will make it unusable.
• Never melt chocolate over direct heat as it scorches very easily resulting in bitter or grainy chocolate.

Melting Chocolate In The Microwave:

• Heat at 30 second intervals, stir between each cooking session and make sure you don’t overheat the chocolate or it will be bitter.

Melting Chocolate In The Oven:

• Preheat oven to 250°F. then turn off the heat. Place chocolate chunks in an oven-safe dish and set it on the middle rack of the oven. Remove when chocolate is melted (stir every few minutes while melting).

Handy Tip For Getting Every Bit Of Chocolate

To save time and avoid waste, remove melted chocolate that clings to sides and bottom of bowl as follows…

1. Mix 1 tablespoon granulated sugar into remaining chocolate.
2. Remove mixture easily with spoon; blend and use with balance of melted chocolate.
3. Bowl is left clean; ready for rinsing; no waste.
4. If desired, to compensate for this extra sugar, reduce by 1 tablespoon sugar quantity specified in recipe being followed.

Easy Clothes Pin Bag

What you'll need:

• A small dress or shirt
• sewing supplies
• scissors

Isn't this cute? My mom made it!
It's very simple. First you find a cute childs dress, or shirt.
It's best if it has a zipper like the one in the picture. That way it's easyer to get the pins out!
Cut the bottom of the dress off, and turn it inside out. Sew the area that you cut close. (You can sew the arm holes shut if you want, or if you worry that the pins will fall out).
Turn it right side out. And tada! You have a cute clothes pin bag!
It's easy and furgal. (A good way to recycle an old dress).

Peanut Butter Cookies

 Peanut Butter Cookies

• 3 cups all purpose flour
• 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, divided
• 1 cup packed brown sugar
• 2 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 cup vegetable shortening
• 1 cup creamy peanut butter
• 1/4 cup milk
• 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 2 eggs

Preheat oven to 350. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. In a bowl combine flour, 1 cup sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, shortening, peanut butter, milk, vanilla and eggs. Mix on low speed until a stiff dough forms. Refrigerate for 10 minutes. Place rest of suger in a shallow dish, Using a disher (small ice cream scoop), scoop dough and roll in sugar.

Place on sheets, flatten with a fork. bake until golden brown, 10-12 minutes. Let cool!

Chocolate Mice

Chocolate Mice

• Cherry's with stems
• Kisses
• Cookies
• Icing (For glueing on eyes and making the nose)
• Sprinkles (For eyes)
• 1 12oz bag chocolate chips (Melted)
• Slivered almonds (for ears)

Prepare a table in a cool place, by laying wax paper down. Melt chocolate chips in a double broiler. Dip cherry's in chocolate, and place one on each cookie. Tilt it a little so the stem of the cherry is pointing out at an angle. While the chocolate is still hot, stick a kiss on the front of the cherry, for form the face of the mouse. Take two almond slivers and stick in between the kiss and the cherry to form the ears. Let stand until the chocolate hardens.
Use little dots of icing as glue to stick on sprinkles as eyes, and put one dot of icing on the tip of the kiss as the nose.

These are great bake sale items! We always sell out of them! Everyone loves these little mice!
